Favourite Books/Authors

hunger_games_trilogy             SUZANNE COLINNS

I read her Hunger Games trilogy about 7 months back and I couldn’t put them down, they are so originally written, and I think that Suzanne Collins in an absolute genius, these books are definitely aimed at both genders, as I know a lot of boys and girls who have read it and the age range is probably 12+.

                                                                                         RICK RIORDAN

Percy-logoYou might have heard of Rick Riordan because of his hit book series Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus. There are also several other books that he has also written like The Kane Chronicles and the new Magnus Chase series. The reason he is my favourite author is because his style of writing  is just genius and it is something quite different to what I usually read, he does have a website that you make an account for, here is the link http://www.rickriordan.com

J.K.ROWLING

2578192374I love the Harry Potter series and i’m sure you do as well. I think of her as a brilliant author, and you might not know this, but when her first book was published the publisher forced her to put her initials on the front instead of her name, so readers wouldn’t know if she was a man or woman. Eventually we found out, but i think that’s a horrible thing to do to an author.

  1. My wife, Erin Rhew, is a NA / YA author who happens to LOVE Rick Riordan and Suzanne Collins. She has informed me that her boyfriend is Percy Jackson–if he were to come to life and crawl from the pages of Rick’s books.

Anyway, she is has written The Fulfillment series–a high-fantasy series–that you may be interested in. Take a look at her site, http://www.ErinRhewBooks.com, and drop her an email you’d be interested in reviewing them.

    Thanks much!

  2. Hi Lara,
The first time I read Genesis 6:4 in the Bible regarding the giants that once roamed the earth, I was amazed at how little was said about such a mysterious civilization. I’ve spent countless hours researching what this verse only briefly touches on and have to ask the question: why the cover-up? Since then, I’ve written a novel that goes down this rabbit hole and would love if you would consider reading my work and reviewing it on your blog. I haven’t had too many teen readers yet, so I will really value your opinion. I’ll be happy to send it to you in any format you like (other than audio as it’s not yet available). Please feel free to ask me any questions.
Thanks and have a great day,
    Ted

    Synopsis:
Futharkia is a city built upon the layout of an ancient rune shape, and a foundation of slavery. The Broxanians have been enslaved by the Olgoikhorkian Masters to exploit the Broxanian talent for rune-scribing. In exchange, the rune-scribes are compensated with the sweet, golden liquid, Ichor, that the giant worm-like Olgoikhorkians secrete from their glands. The Ichor also happens to be highly addictive and psychoactive. The system has worked for millennia. However, the Great Fern Jungle that surrounds Futharkia is dying, being bleached white by some unseen force. Coupled with the fact that the simian-like Fern Lice have been hunted to near extinction to provide for Futharkia’s ever-increasing demand for food, the ecosystem is near collapse. It is amid this setting that Cyesko Limariar, an aging rune-scribe makes one last attempt at greatness to lift himself out of poverty, even if by fraudulent means.
